Visa Information

Please note that Zimbabwe has three (3) categories for visa applications. These are;

Category A: This category consists of countries whose nationals do not need visas to enter into Zimbabwe.

Category BThis category consists of countries whose nationals are given visas at the port of entry on payment of visa fees.

Category CThis category consists of those countries whose nationals have to apply for visas before entry.

Passport Application

Requirements for Application for a Zimbabwean Passport

Please be advised that applicants are required to visit the Embassy in person and make applications for passport renewals. This is because applicants are required to have their fingerprints taken at the Embassy.

The following documents are required when making application for renewing passports;

  1. Original and photocopy of a Zimbabwean Long Birth Certificate.
  2. Original and photocopy of a Zimbabwean National Identity Card (paper, metal or plastic type). This is a requirement for applicants who are 16 years and above. Please be advised that all Zimbabwean children who have turned 16 years of age are required to obtain Zimbabwean National Registration Cards (IDs) by law, before they can apply for Zimbabwe passports. The registration cards can only be obtained by going to Zimbabwe to make the application in person.
  3. Marriage Certificate and photocopy (for married women, the National ID Card should be in married name).
  4. Proof of citizenship if claiming citizenship in Zimbabwe by Descent, Registration or Naturalization.
  5. Old/expired passport plus photocopy of bio-data page for new type passport.
  6. Emirates ID/Residence or UAE visit visa.
  7. 3 colour photographs of 3,5cm x 4,5cm taken from a studio with a WHITE Background but NO White Borders. Do not smile showing teeth . Applicants should wear dark clothes.

For women, please note the following;

(i) No earrings / necklaces

(ii) Blouse should cover shoulders.

FEES

Fees for passport form and taking of fingerprints is AED300.

Children below 18 years should be accompanied by either parents or legal guardian with National Identity Card or valid Passport to sign Section 5 of the passport form.

Important Information Regarding Processing of Passport Applications

1). The processing of passport application, including payment of processing fees, is done in Zimbabwe. This process can be done by the applicant when he or she travels to Zimbabwe or by a third party nominee residing in Zimbabwe who is preferably a relative of the applicant.

2). It is the responsibility of the applicant to send his or her passport application form to Zimbabwe for processing. The passport processing fees will be paid at the Passport Office in Zimbabwe.

Please note the following passport processing fee in Zimbabwe:

US$120 for a passport that is processed within 1 week.

A complete passport application form to be send to Zimbabwe should consist of the following documents:

  1. The stamped passport Application Form (P1).
  2. Certified copies of the Zimbabwe long birth certificate, Zimbabwe National Identity Card and relevant pages of the old passport.
  3. Scanned passport size photos.
  4. Original receipt issued by the Embassy.
  5. The letter or affidavit authorizing your nominees to submit the application and also collect the new passport once it is issued.
  6. P34 Application Form.

Once the new passport is issued and ready for collection, the applicant is required to tender the old passport to the Embassy for cancellation and then scan copies of the cancelled passport to the nominee to enable him or her to collect the new passport.


Birth Certificate Application

Child Registration Requirements

The following documents are required for child registration for a birth certificate:

  1. The child’s UAE Birth Certificate (both original and copy).
  2. Both parents’ Long Birth Certificates (both original and copy).
  3. Both parents’ Zimbabwe National Identity Cards (paper, metal or plastic type: both original and copy)
  4. Both parents’ passports (original and copy)
  5. Marriage Certificate (original and copy).
  6. A fee of AED50 for the BD3 form (Birth Certificate Application Form).

Please note that both parents of the child must come to the Embassy.

When the BD3 forms have been completed, signed and processed, it is the responsibility of the parents to send the forms to the Registrar General’s Office for the child’s registration and issuance of the Zimbabwean Long Birth Certificate.

Single parents can process applications by submitting;

  1. The UAE’s Birth Certificate (original and copy).
  2. The parent’s Zimbabwe Long Birth Certificate (original and copy).
  3. The parent’s Zimbabwe National Identity Card (paper, metal or plastic type).
  4. The parent’s passport


Temporary Travel Document (TTD)

Please be advised that a Temporary Travel Document (TTD) can ONLY be issued for a person at the Embassy in emergence circumstances where the Zimbabwe passport is not available for travel.

Applicants are required to bring the following documents to apply for a TTD;

  1. Old/expired passport. If passport got lost, applicants are required to produce a Police Report.
  2. Long Zimbabwe Birth Certificate.
  3. Zimbabwe National Identity Card (paper, metal or plastic type).
  4. Two passport sized colour photographs.
  5. Fees for a TTD: AED248.


Authentication/Attestation of Documents

Please note that the Embassy can only attest a Zimbabwean document, i.e. academic certificate, marriage certificate etc. if that document has first been certified by the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe. To attest the documents, one must come to the Embassy in person with the following documents;

  1. Valid Zimbabwean Passport
  2. Original Document/Certificate
  3. Certified copy of the original document (certified by the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe).
  4. Fees: AED120 per page

Certification of Zimbabwe Driver’s Licence:

For the Certification of Zimbabwe Driver’s Licence, you are required to come to the Embassy in person with the following documents:

  • Applicant should first get a confirmation letter of the licence from CVR in Zimbabwe.

Police Clearance

Applicants are required to do the following:

  1. Fill in the attached ZRP Form 137. Download Form.
  2. Make payment of US$75 or the equivalent by telegraphic transfer to the Account Number provided.
  3. Make appointment for fingerprints with any Police Station which does fingerprints.

Repatriation of the Remains of the Deceased

The following documents are required for the repatriation of the deceased to Zimbabwe:

  1. Deceased’s Zimbabwean Passport.
  2. Death Certificate.
  3. Infectious/Non-Infectious Disease Certificate.
  4. Embalming Certificate.
  5. Removal Certificate/Order (permit to repatriate remains from the country where death occurred.


Deceased without a Passport

In cases where the deceased does not have a Zimbabwean passport, the undertaker should approach the Embassy with the following additional documents:

  1. Zimbabwean National Identity Card or Zimbabwean Birth Certificate of the deceased.
  2. Affidavit written by the next of keen stating that the person is indeed a Zimbabwean national as well as the nature of the relationship with the deceased.

With these documents, the Embassy will seek the necessary clearance from Harare before repatriation could take place.
